Inspired by Rudolf Steiner Education, UB is committed to offer an education for the children, which develops the whole person by equally engaging the mind, nurturing the imagination, and strengthening the will through a balanced curriculum. The school aims to develop lifelong learners and independent thinkers as well as self-motivated and responsible individuals by addressing their heads, hands and hearts.

VISION
Given the support of Waldorf Education in the nurturing environment and holistic approach to children’s development, UB envisions sending out into the world graduates who are able to create new solutions to the problems of our age and to impart purpose and direction to their own lives.

OBJECTIVES

UB Waldorf School International seeks to establish and maintain a school that provides an individualized, nurturing approach to educating its students, preparing them not only for higher education, but for the rest of their lives. In consonance with its mission and vision, it commits itself to:

Facilitate each child’s excellence in core academic skills by providing a curriculum enlivened with the arts of painting, music, drama, movement, singing, sculpture and handwork
Present the curriculum in multiple and integrated ways, so children have many different opportunities to learn concepts, as well as to see the relationship to the larger whole
Promote fundamental values and life skills

WHAT IS STEINER EDUCATION?

The Steiner philosophy that drives Waldorf Schools is one which human possibility is seen as infinite. Genius in each child is recognized and is coaxed lovingly and patiently across all dimensions – physical, emotional, intellectual, artistic and spiritual – so that these capacities are developed in a truly balanced way. The Steiner education nurtures its students across the full range of human talent and in doing that, enhances qualities which contribute to creative independence and balanced maturity in adulthood.

There are now more than 900 independent Waldorf / Steiner schools all over the world, many built as a non-profit venture by communal effort. The Steiner education is unique in that by design, it draws the active involvement of community members in helping create the environment where the child is educated in a loving and balanced way.

It is the core philosophy of Steiner education to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives for the common good and advancement of mankind.

TESTIMONIALS
The Steiner method as used in Waldorf Schools is recognized for what it brings to the child:

"It is a pleasure for me to write an endorsement for Waldorf Education, which has been extraordinarily successful for my son. The remarkable, dedicated faculty has directed his attitude and energies toward academic achievement and civic responsibility. The shool draws out the best qualities in young people. While this is not an instant process, the values they learn by constant contact with the faculty will provide a lifetime platform from which to grow. In summary this system works!" - Gilbert M. Grosvenor, President & Chairman, National Geographic Society

"The beauty of the Waldorf School is that it is designed entirely to keep children intact until they are ready to move out into the world as whole individuals." - Joseph Chilton Pearce, Author: "The Magical Child" & "The Crack in the Cosmic Egg"

"What every parent would wish as the best for his or her children, Waldorf Education provides. The fullest development of intelligent, imaginative, self-confident and caring persons is the aim of Waldorf education. The depth of Waldorf education has far-reaching implication..." - Dr. Douglas Sloane, Professor of Education, Teachers College, Columbia University
