The Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) is
a comprehensive educational assessment program at the tertiary level through which
knowledge, skills, attitudes and values (KSAVs) gained by individuals from relevant
work experiences, high-level non-formal training and informal experiences can be
recognized, accredited and given equivalencies parallel to those obtained through
formal education in HEIs. This program aims to certify after thorough evaluation,
the pertinent work experiences and knowledge acquired by individuals from high-level,
non-formal and informal training towards the awarding of an appropriate academic degree.

ETEEAP OBJECTIVES AND POLICIES |
|
Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) as defined
by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has the following objectives: |

To accredit and assess prior non-formal / informal learning of individuals towards
the granting of equivalency certificate and awards in higher education starting
in 1997 |
|

To fully develop the system of equivalency and accreditation in higher education
as a bridging mechanism for the flexible entry and exchange between the formal and
non-formal and informal systems of higher learning |
|
|
To implement the accreditation and equivalency program in ten (10) priority disciplines
in forty (40) public and private higher education institutions all over the country |
|
|
To award higher education certificates and degrees to deserving candidates each
year starting in 1998 |

|
QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDIDATE |
|
An ETEEAP candidate must meet the following qualifications:
|
|
|
Filipino, at least high school graduate or must have PEPT equivalent to first year
college |
|
|
Has at least five (5) years of work-related experiences |
|
|
Must be at least 22 years old |
|
|
Able to show evidence of capability and thorough knowledge through the following
evidences (any of the following): |
|
|
|
a. |
Certificate of Proficiency issued by a government regulatory board |
|
b. |
Certificate of Proficiency issued by the employer |
|
c. |
Certificate of Proficiency issued by a licensed practitioner in the field |
|
d. |
Business registration certificate |

AWARDING OF DEGREE / DIPLOMA |

ETEEAP degree / diploma is awarded upon completion of the program |
|
|
Awarded ETEEAP degree have the same weight and values as the degree awarded through
the regular program |

|
Distinction will be made in the transcript of records and / or diploma between the
ETEEAP graduate and the regular graduate.
