Don Stanley Dalisay, an alumnus of UB Elementary Batch 2003 and UB High School 2007 Valedictorian graduated at United States Military Academy with honors and was also a recipient of the Distinguished Cadet Award.
“I always wanted to represent our country well and secure that I will not give a bad reputation.” He explained when asked how he reached that far. There were tough times but he decided to finish the race. “It’s a matter of self-perspective. You always have to step up, instead of settling down to be average cadet with same capabilities, I worked hard to gain more.” He added.
He was also surrounded with lots of inspiration, and dreams to be a president. “Of course, being children, we had big dreams—and I was dreaming of becoming president,” Dalisay said, breaking into a laugh. “So I thought that to become one, I should enter West Point. I didn’t even know at that time that it was a military academy.”
Dalisay also took his oath as 2nd Lieutenant Officer in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
After a break, he will pursue a Master’s degree program at Tsinghua University in Beijing as one of the 2017 Schwarzman Scholarship recipients thru West Point Military Academy.
